HOW DOES IT WORK?
Aromatherapy is a massage that uses essential oils and a carrier oil. Essential oils have many benefits and can be used to treat many common ailments and enhance well-being within the body. A unique blend of oils will be used to suit your needs. The oils are massaged into the skin and are absorbed from the skin and into the blood stream. This is where the oils take effect and will continue to stay in the body for up to 24 hours. This is an extremely relaxing massage. 

The 5 most popular essential oils and there most common uses are:
1. TEA TREE - acne, athletes foot, bronchitis, chest infections, cold sores, urinary tract infections, dandruff, ear ache, flu, irregular periods, neuralgia, rheumatism, sore throats, spots, thrush, warts, wounds, cuts, sores.
2. LAVENDER - bruises, burns, dermatitis, heavy periods, insect bites, mouth ulcers, period pains, rheumatism, cuts, insomnia.
3. PEPPERMINT - acne, bad breath, boils, dandruff, rashes, allergies, rashes, cools tired ache muscles and feet, good for sunburn.
4. EUCALYPTUS - arthritis, bronchitis, chest infections, urinary infections, flu, hiccups, menopause, PMS, rheumatism.
5. ROSEMARY- acne, chest infections, uplifting the spirits, earache, dandruff, dermatitis, skin ulcers and mouth.
 
A carrier oil must be used with all essential oils.
You can add them to a base oil, milk and apply with cotton wool, in the bath, in an oil burner to inhale, a bowl of hot water to inhale, also in foot lotions and shampoos but never ever use them neat!

The most popular carrier oils and their properties are:
1. SESAME OIL - Reduces muscular pains, stiffness and strengthens and moisturises the skin. Delays the greying process of the hair. It is a balancing oil and is nice to use in the summer.
2. MUSTARD OIL - Has a warming sensation, increases heat which relieves pains, swelling and stiff muscles. Cleanses the blood. Best to use in the winter for those winter blues.
3. OLIVE OIL – It is a good cooking oil. It increases body heat and reduces swelling.
4. ALMOND OIL - Reduces pain and stiffness, promotes healthy hair. Be careful though if you are allergic to nuts.
5. COCONUT OIL - Lovely aroma, best used in the spring, moisturises the skin, encourages healthy hair. Liquefy in water a few minutes before use.
 
 
AFTER CARE
It is recommended that you have a bath or shower prior to attending. This is so you can leave the oils on overnight for them to work for as long as possible. Please drink plenty of water after the treatment and follow a low fat diet.
